For the Lor your God is the God of gs and the Lord of lords,
The great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe.
He executes justice for the orphan and the widow,
And shows His love for the alien by giving him food and clothing.
So show your love for the alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.
You shall fear the Lord your God;
You shall serve Him and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name.
He is your praise and He is your God, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen.”
Deut. 10:16-21
To circumcise means to cut away anything that is superfluous
– anything that is not necessary and can be harmful. What do you need to
circumcise from your heart – pride; a victim mentality; worship of money, fame,
or something else besides G; selfishness; fear; or self-reliance? There
are others things also. Go to God and ask Him what you need to cut away in
order to follow Him fully. Don’t have a stiff neck. It only hurts
you and those around you. Soften your heart through the word, praise, and
trust.
God is worthy of your love and devotion. He is above all
else.
Fear for God is not a trembly fear of the guilty, but rather
the awe of the authority of God and His goodness. This leads us to serve
Him not from trying to please Him, but because of our great love for Him.
Let that love lead you to deeds of love towards others.
