Jesus Our Rock

“Those who trust in the Lord
Are as Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever.”
Psalm 125:1

“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge…”
Psalm 18:2

One of the books that we are selling at our booth is called “The Writing of God”.  It is a Biblical archeology book.  In this book is a picture of a rock that they believe is the rock that Moses struck and water came out.  It is a monolith.  It is amazing!  A rock in the middle of the desert that juts straight up from the ground.  It is split with a chasm right down the middle.  And from that rock is water erosion down into a basin that indicates a lake.  It is in the middle of a desert!

The Son is our rock.  He cannot be moved.  He gives life giving water in the form of the HS and He gives us hope for the future.  As the Israelites were wandering in the desert, they complained because of their thirst.  God provided for them from this rock.  This water allowed the Israelites to be able to continue to journey on to Mt. Sinai.  God will respond to you  also in your time of need.  He gives hope.

The neat thing about God being our rock is that He is a great big monolith that cannot be moved.  His word is true forever.  He never changes.  He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  And He cares for you, delights in you, and loves you because you are His.  If you look up and can’t find God, it is not God that has moved.  Line yourself up under the immovable rock and find peace and joy and hope.

God Will Go Before You to Fight Your Battles

“When you go out to battle against your enemies and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you,
do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you
When you are approaching the battle, the priest shall come near and speak to the people.
He shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, you are approaching the battle against your enemies today.
Do not be fainthearted.
Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble before them,
for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you,
to fight for you against your enemies to save you.’”
Deuteronomy 20:1-4

God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  So the same God that went before Israel, will go before us as we battle Satan's strongholds in our hearts  and in the world.

The Bible contrasts Israel coming out of Egypt to our coming out of darkness and into the light of the Father’s kingdom.  We do not face chariots and horses, but we do face pride and sin and great evil.

We also do not need to be afraid, because our Father goes before us and He is mighty to save!  In the end, He wins!  And through it all, He is with you!  His very presence resides in your heart.  Trust is the opposite of fear.  Trust our Father, and the enemy must flee because darkness cannot coexist with light.

Purity

Sorry these posts have been erratic.  We are on the road until august doing conferences all across the United States.  Thanks for your understanding and patience.  I will try to post a couple of times a week.

“How can a young man keep his way pure?
By keeping it according to Your word.”
Psalm 119:9

And that goes for everyone!   Does our Father’s word have the answers?  You bet!  If we trust in Him and acknowledge Him in all things, He will make our paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Our Father lays down a moral law for us because it is what is best for the creatures that He created!  He knows!  He is the manufacturer of these bodies, souls, and spirits!  Put up a hedge of protection about yourself to help you keep His ways.  Don’t go where you are tempted, don’t read or watch things contrary to our Father’s word, don’t listen to evil doers, just follow His word.  Be reading it, listening to it, singing it, and meditating upon it day and night (Psalm 1).  Then you will be able to keep your way pure in the midst of an evil generation.

Walk in the Light

“…to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light
and from the dominion of Satan to God,
that they may receive forgiveness of sins,
and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.”
Acts 26:18

You are sons  and daughters of light.  Walk in the light and not in the dark.  Only do those things that you could do with someone watching, because Someone is watching!  If you have to hide it, it is wrong! "...for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light." Eph. 5:8

"If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin." 1 John 1:6-7

Speak truth to others that the veil of unbelief might be withdrawn from their eyes and that they also may be transferred into Light.

Jesus is Greater Than...

“Greater is He who is in you,
than he that is in the world."
1 John 4:4

Short verse.  Enough said. Know it. Claim it.

No matter your circumstances, your spiritual battle, or your heart - Jesus is enough and He is able to overcome Satan at every turn.  Seek Him.  Listen to Him.  Talk to Him.  Cast all of your cares upon Him.  Jesus is sufficient for all your needs.

Circumcise Your Heart

“So circumcise your heart, and stiffen your neck no longer.
For the Lor your God is the God of gs and the Lord of lords,
The great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe.
He executes justice for the orphan and the widow,
And shows His love for the alien by giving him food and clothing.
So show your love for the alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

You shall fear the Lord your God;
You shall serve Him and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name.
He is your praise and He is your God, who has done these great and awesome things for you which your eyes have seen.”
Deut. 10:16-21

To circumcise means to cut away anything that is superfluous – anything that is not necessary and can be harmful.  What do you need to circumcise from your heart – pride; a victim mentality; worship of money, fame, or something else besides G; selfishness; fear; or self-reliance?  There are others things also.  Go to God and ask Him what you need to cut away in order to follow Him fully.  Don’t have a stiff neck.  It only hurts you and those around you.  Soften your heart through the word, praise, and trust.

God is worthy of your love and devotion.  He is above all else.

Fear for God is not a trembly fear of the guilty, but rather the awe of the authority of God and His goodness.  This leads us to serve Him not from trying to please Him, but because of our great love for Him.  Let that love lead you to deeds of love towards others.

Speak Boldly

We are in Utah on our way to Idaho.  It is beautiful here with snow-capped mountains, green foot hills, cows, lakes, and mountain springs. I was born in Brigham city, Utah, but have not been back since I was an infant. It was cool to see the Great Salt Lake.

My oldest son is in China today on his way to India with 4 others for mission work at two orphanages and street evangelism with a college group in India.  Please pray for safety, health, and many to come to know their Father.

“Therefore they spent a long time there speaking boldly with reliance upon the Lord,
who was testifying to the word of His grace,
granting that signs and wonders be done by their hands.”
Acts 14:3

Whether you are on a foreign mission field or in our back yard mission field, you need to speak boldly with reliance upon the Lord.  And the message should be the word of God’s grace!  Not judgment, but grace!  Are your conversations seasoned with words of grace?  Are you open to speaking boldly to those around you in truth?  Signs and wonders will be the regeneration of another’s soul through rebirth by the Spirit through the blood of Jesus or a born again Christian growing and desiring the things of God.  What wondrous miracles!  May God give you the confidence to speak boldly and may your mind be filled with the word of grace and truth and may your heart be in constant relationship with Godl
