do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, is with you.
When you are approaching the battle, the priest shall come near and speak to the people.
He shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, you are approaching the battle against your enemies today.
Do not be fainthearted.
Do not be afraid, or panic, or tremble before them,
for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you,
to fight for you against your enemies to save you.’”
Deuteronomy 20:1-4
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
So the same God that went before Israel, will go before us as we battle Satan's strongholds in our hearts and in the world.
The Bible contrasts
Israel coming out of Egypt to our coming out of darkness and into the light of
the Father’s kingdom. We do not face chariots and horses, but we do face
pride and sin and great evil.
We also do not need to be afraid, because
our Father goes before us and He is mighty to save! In the end, He
wins! And through it all, He is with you! His very presence resides
in your heart. Trust is the opposite of fear. Trust our
Father, and the enemy must flee because darkness cannot coexist with
light.
